Description
In y = cot(x), the output is the cosine function of the input divided by the sine function of the input. Sine and cosine functions are explained in greater depth on their respective pages.
Characteristics
Concavity- The graph of y = cot(x) is concave up from (0+kπ,π/2+kπ], and concave down from [π/2+kπ,π+kπ).
Decreasing/Increasing- The graph of y = cot(x) is never increasing, but decreasing from (0+kπ,π+kπ).
Symmetry- The graph of y = cot(x) has odd symmetry because if rotated 180° around the origin, it would be the same graph.
